Jack White Named to Nashville Council on Gender Equity

Jack White has been named to a 45-member council that will study gender equity in Nashville, as The Tennessean reports. The council's makeup includes local business leaders and politicians, who will provide Mayor Megan Berry with "data-informed recommendations and advice" regarding systemic gender inequality in the city. “A society can prosper with incredible success when gender is not blocking progress, and is fair to all members of that society,” White said in a statement during a press conference announcing the council. “I’m very inspired to work with Mayor Barry and the Council on Gender Equity to help inspire local Nashville businesses to adopt progressive measures to ensure the fair treatment of all people in our society.” via Pitchfork
